仿生學是一門既古老又年輕的學科,是以自然為靈感,解決地球上人類面臨的問題的一個分支。人們研究生物體的結構與功能的工作原理,并根據這些原理發(fā)明出新的設備、工具和科技,創(chuàng)造出適用于生產、學習和生活的先進技術。
仿生學一詞是1960年由美國斯蒂爾根據拉丁文構成Binics一詞,后來演變成Bimimetics。1997年Janine Benyus首次提出Bimimicry一詞。某些生物具有的功能迄今比任何人工制造的機械都優(yōu)越得多,仿生學就是要在工程上實現并有效地應用生物功能的一門學科。例如關于信息接受(感覺功能)、信息傳遞(神經功能)、自動控制系統(tǒng)等,這種生物體的結構與功能在機械設計方面給了很大啟發(fā)。
仿生學的例子有很多,如將海豚的體形或皮膚結構(游泳時能使身體表面不產生紊流)應用到潛艇設計原理上。又比如,蒼蠅是細菌的傳播者,一般歸類為害蟲,可是蒼蠅的楫翅是天然導航儀。而且,它的眼睛是一種“復眼”,由3000 多只小眼組成,人們模仿它制成了“蠅眼透鏡”。“蠅眼透鏡”是用幾百或者幾千塊小透鏡整齊排列組合而成的,用它作鏡頭可以制成“蠅眼照相機”,一次就能照出千百張相同的相片。這種照相機已經用于印刷制版和大量復制電子計算機的微小電路,大大提高了工效和質量。
仿生學也被認為是與控制論有密切關系的一門學科,而控制論主要是將生命現象和機械原理加以比較,進行研究和解釋的一門學科。

One f the utstanding features f traditinal Chinese martial arts is the way they imitate animal mvements. This came abut because many Chinese martial artists admired the natural instincts, senses and fighting abilities that animals pssess in rder t survive in the wild.
The first set f animal-imitating exercises came int being abut 2,000 years ag. It was called Wu Qin Xi, r Five-animal Exercises, created by Hua Tu ( cal45~208). As a physician during the Han Dynasty, Hua Tu is ften credited with being the first in China t use anesthesia during surgery. He was knwn as the best physician f his time, and was an expert in acupuncture.

華佗在《莊子》“二禽戲”(“熊經鳥伸”)的基礎上創(chuàng)編了“五禽戲”。其名稱及功效據《后漢書·方術列傳·華佗傳》記載:“吾有一術,名五禽之戲:一曰虎,二曰鹿,三曰熊,四曰猿,五曰鳥。亦以除疾,兼利蹄足,以當導引。體有不快,起作一禽之戲,怡而汗出,因以著粉,身體輕便而欲食。普施行之,年九十余,耳目聰明,齒牙完堅?!?br>南北朝時陶弘景在其《養(yǎng)性延命錄》中有比較詳細的記載:“虎戲者,四肢距地,前三擲,卻二擲,長引腰,側腳仰天,即返距行,前、卻各七過也。鹿戲者,四肢距地,引項反顧,左三右二,左右伸腳,伸縮亦三亦二也。熊戲者,正仰以兩手抱膝下,舉頭,左僻地七,右亦七,蹲地,以手左右托地。猿戲者,攀物自懸,伸縮身體,上下一七,以腳拘物自懸,左右七,手鉤卻立,按頭各七。鳥戲者,雙立手,翹一足,伸兩臂,揚眉鼓力,各二七,坐伸腳,手挽足距各七,縮伸二臂各七也。夫五禽戲法,任力為之,以汗出為度,有汗以粉涂身,消谷食,益氣力,除百病,能存行之者,必得延年”。陶弘景在該書中,不但對五禽戲的具體操作步驟進行了描繪,而且提出了五禽戲的鍛煉原則——“任力為之,以汗出為度”。
