As I tasted the creamy pie, a grup f kids 5 by, their cheeks sticky with pink cttn candy. “Can we help yu?” they asked, buncing excitedly n their tes. We let them 6 the jam jars with clrful ribbns and cute stickers. Their lud laughter filled the air, mixing with the lively bluegrass music frm the stage where a lcal band was 7 .
Later that afternn, a musician tk the stage with his guitar, singing sngs abut tractrs, glden wheat fields, and harvest jys. Peple 8 and sang alng—grandpas twirled grandmas arund, teenagers did silly dances, and a tiny baby clapped her chubby hands t the beat. I smiled as I nticed an elderly cuple 9 hands, their faces glwing sftly like the setting sun. Sn after, a flk 10 began—everyne jined in, stepping in slw circles t the fiddle music, n ne left ut.
When the festival neared its end, the mayr stepped up t give a 11 f thanks. “We’re s grateful fr this land, the fd it gives us, and mst f all, each ther,” he said. Then, everyne jined hands t sing “Amazing Grace,” their vices blending tgether warmly.
On the way hme, I 12 the day’s happy events: Mr. Gmez sharing his pie, the kids’ sticky hugs after decrating jars, and the ld cuple’s quiet lve.
