He tried hard t catch up with his classmates,but he failed. 他盡力趕上同學(xué)們,但是失敗了。The children can g with us,r they can stay in. 孩子們可以跟我們?nèi)?,也可以待在家。He must have been caught in the rain,fr he is wet all ver. 他肯定被雨淋了,因?yàn)樗麥喩矶紳窳恕?br/>1.a(chǎn)nd構(gòu)成的句型(1)祈使句+and+陳述句(祈使句相當(dāng)于一個(gè)條件狀語從句,and后面的句子相當(dāng)于一個(gè)表示結(jié)果的主句)。Wrk hard,and yu will succeed.(= If yu wrk hard,yu will succeed.)努力學(xué)習(xí),你就會成功。
(2)名詞詞組+and+陳述句(名詞詞組相當(dāng)于一個(gè)條件狀語從句,其中常含有mre,anther等詞)。Anther try,and yu’ll make a success. 再試一次,你就會取得成功。
2.r (else)構(gòu)成的句型 (1)祈使句+r (else)+陳述句。Seize the chance,r (else) yu’ll regret. 抓住這次機(jī)會,否則你會后悔的。(2)名詞詞組+r (else)+陳述句。Mre healthy fd,r (else) yu’ll break dwn sner r later. 多吃健康食品,不然你的身體遲早會垮掉。
3.when構(gòu)成的句型when引起并列句,意為“正在這時(shí)”,表示某件事正在發(fā)生或剛要發(fā)生或剛剛完成時(shí),突然發(fā)生另一動作。(1)sb.be ding sth. when…某人正在做某事,這時(shí)……Last Mnday,I was walking in the street when I suddenly saw an ld man fall ff his bicycle. 上周一,我正在街上散步,這時(shí)我突然看到一位老人從自行車上摔了下來。
(2)sb.be abut t d sth. when…某人正要做某事,這時(shí)……We were abut t set ff when it suddenly began t rain. 我們正打算動身,突然下起雨來了。(3)sb. be n the pint f ding sth. when…某人正要做某事,這時(shí)……She was n the pint f ging t bed when smene kncked at the dr. 她正要上床睡覺,突然有人敲門。(4)sb.had just dne sth. when…某人剛做完某事,這時(shí)……I had just finished sweeping the flr when the telephne rang. 我剛剛掃完地,這時(shí)電話鈴響了。
1.when,while和as的用法
2.befre,since的用法(1)befre表示“在……之前;還未……就……;還沒有來得及……就……”。常用句式:①It will be/was+一段時(shí)間+befre…要過/過了……時(shí)間才……;②It wn’t be/ wasn’t+一段時(shí)間+ befre…沒過多久就……We need t get t the rt f the prblem befre we can slve it. 在我們解決問題之前,我們需要找到問題的根源。
(2)since意為“自……以來”,常用句式:It is/ has been+一段時(shí)間+ since從句(常用過去時(shí))。since 從句的時(shí)態(tài)若是一般過去時(shí),主句的時(shí)態(tài)常用現(xiàn)在完成時(shí)或現(xiàn)在完成進(jìn)行時(shí)。As is reprted,it is ver 100 years since Qinghua University was funded. 正如所報(bào)道的,清華大學(xué)自建立以來已有一百多年了。
3.till/until的用法till/until用于肯定句表示“直到……為止”,其主句謂語動詞必須為延續(xù)性動詞;nt… until/till…表示“直到……才……”,nt所在的主句的謂語動詞必須為非延續(xù)性動詞。until 可用于句首,而till 不能。

4.表示“一……就……”的連詞(1)as sn as,the mment,the minute,the instant,immediately,directly等The mment my aunt gained her diplma after fur years f hard wrk,she was filled with jy. 我阿姨苦讀四年之后獲得了文憑,那一刻她欣喜萬分。
(2)在hardly…when…,n sner…than…結(jié)構(gòu)中,主句用過去完成時(shí),when或than所在的從句用一般過去時(shí)。I had hardly gt t the ffice when my wife phned me t g back hme at nce. 我剛到辦公室,妻子就打電話讓我回家。
where意為“在某個(gè)地方”,wherever意為“無論在哪里”。Yu can sit wherever yu like. 你喜歡坐哪兒都可以。
because意為“因?yàn)椤?,語氣強(qiáng)烈,表示事情發(fā)生的直接原因。since意為“既然,由于”,語氣較弱,表示說話雙方都知道的原因。nw that則用于已成事實(shí)的原因作為前提。Nw that yu’ve grwn up yu must learn t stand n yur wn tw feet. 你既然已經(jīng)長大成人,就得學(xué)會獨(dú)立生活。
If yu cheat in the exam yu’ll never get away with it. 考試作弊必予追究。特別提示:條件狀語從句常用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)代替一般將來時(shí)。
althugh引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí),只能用正常語序;thugh引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí),可用正常語序,也可用倒裝語序;as引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí)只能用倒裝語序,即從句中的表語、狀語或動詞原形置于句首,若表語是單數(shù)名詞,前置時(shí)要省略冠詞。althugh與thugh都可以與yet,still連用,但不能和but連用。while引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí),一般置于句首。even if與even thugh引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí),可用虛擬語氣,也可以用陳述語氣。

Yu lk yunger than yu are. 你看上去比你的實(shí)際年齡要年輕。
特別提示: 注意兩種特殊的表示比較的結(jié)構(gòu):①the+比較級… ,the+比較級… 結(jié)構(gòu)。The mre yu exercise,the healthier yu will be.你鍛煉得越多就會越健康。②A be t B what C be t D 結(jié)構(gòu)。Engines are t machines what hearts are t animals.發(fā)動機(jī)之于機(jī)器正如心臟之于動物。
1.時(shí)間、讓步、方式、地點(diǎn)狀語從句的省略如果狀語從句的主語與主句的主語一致或從句的主語是it,而且狀語從句的謂語中有be動詞,可以將從句中的主語連同be動詞一起省略。
While in Beijing,I paid a visit t the Summer Palace.在北京時(shí),我參觀了頤和園。He ften makes mistakes when speaking English.說英語時(shí)他經(jīng)常出錯(cuò)。The wman teacher left the classrm silently as thugh (she was) angry.這位女老師默默地離開了教室,好像生氣了。Thugh (it was) cld,he still wre a shirt.雖然天氣冷,但他仍然穿一件襯衫。
2.條件狀語從句的省略(1)在if it is pssible,if it is necessary,when it is necessary等類似結(jié)構(gòu)中,it is常省略。Cme tmrrw if pssible.如果可能的話就明天來吧。Unless(it is)necessary,yu’d better nt refer t the dictinary.如果沒有必要,你最好不要查詞典。
(2)在虛擬條件句中連詞if的省略。在虛擬條件句中,如果從句謂語中含有had/were/shuld,if可省略,把had/were/shuld提至句首引起倒裝。Were I(=If I were)twenty nw,I wuld jin the army.如果我現(xiàn)在二十歲,我就參軍。Had yu cme(=If yu had cme)yesterday,yu wuld have met her.如果你昨天來,你就見到她了。Shuld there be(=If there shuld be)a fld,what shuld we d?萬一發(fā)生洪水,我們該怎么辦?
1.牢記連詞詞義并能熟練運(yùn)用是解答題目的先決條件;2.牢記固定句式結(jié)構(gòu),確定從屬連詞;3.根據(jù)主從句的邏輯關(guān)系確定狀語從句的連接詞。如果主從句是因果關(guān)系,則要考慮用because,as,since等;如果主從句有時(shí)間先后之分,則要考慮用時(shí)間狀語從句的連接詞;如果從句為主句的條件,則要考慮用if;如果從句表示讓步,則要考慮用althugh, thugh,while等。
【典例1】 It is ften said that the jy f travelling is nt in arriving at yur destinatin ______ in the jurney itself.解析:根據(jù)句意可知,空處前后為選擇關(guān)系,nt… but… 結(jié)構(gòu)表示“不是……而是……”,連接兩個(gè)并列成分,符合句意。故填but?!镜淅?】 —Hw lng d yu think it is ________ he arrived here?—N mre than half a year,I believe.解析: “It is+時(shí)間段+since sb.did sth.”意為“自從某人做某事到現(xiàn)在有多久了”,為固定句型。故填since。
一、在寫作中往往缺乏并列句意識,主要存在以下兩個(gè)方面的傾向:1.機(jī)械排列簡單句I believe I am fit fr it. I’m writing t apply fr the psitin.如果我們把意義相關(guān)的這兩個(gè)句子用適當(dāng)?shù)倪B詞連接起來,可得到下面的句子:
I believe I am fit fr it, s I’m writing t apply fr the psitin.比較一下,同學(xué)們是不是感覺后者要優(yōu)于前者呢?并列連詞的使用可增強(qiáng)句子之間的邏輯性和美感,使句子之間顯得更加緊湊。
2.逗號連接兩個(gè)簡單句I’m enthusiastic and easy-ging,I’m easy t get alng with and can cperate well with thers.在該句中含有兩個(gè)簡單句,中間用逗號起了連接作用,顯然這是不符合英語語法規(guī)則的。我們不妨做如下改動:I’m enthusiastic and easy-ging,s I’m easy t get alng with and can cperate well with thers.
二、對于狀語從句,在實(shí)際運(yùn)動中主要存在以下問題:1.從句意識缺乏The Exp is very attractive. We are all eager t pay a visit t it.The Exp is s attractive that we are all eager t pay a visit t it.通過比較不難發(fā)現(xiàn),后句比前句更加緊湊且邏輯性強(qiáng),增強(qiáng)了交際效果。
2.狀語從句成分殘缺(誤)Please clse the drs and windws befre leave the classrm.(正)Please clse the drs and windws befre yu leave the classrm.由于受漢語的干擾,第一句中狀語從句中漏掉了主語。
3.連接詞誤用(誤)Teachers and parents shuld respect us n matter we are in r utside schl.(正)Teachers and parents shuld respect us whether we are in r utside schl.這兩句盡管從漢語角度來看意思相同,但是從語法角度n matter一般后跟特殊疑問詞,而whether可直接引導(dǎo)狀語從句。
(誤)Thugh he is cnsidered a great writer,but his wrks are nt widely read.(正)Thugh he is cnsidered a great writer, his wrks are nt widely read.在讓步狀語從句中,thugh和althugh不能與but連用。
Ⅰ.單句語法填空1.(2020·新高考卷)They kept their cllectin at hme until it gt t big ____ until they died, and then it was given t a museum. 解析:考查并列連詞。句意:他們把自己的藏品留在家里,直到收藏變得太大或者自己去世,然后這些藏品被捐給一家博物館。根據(jù)語境可知,前后陳述的是兩者可能性,應(yīng)使用連詞r“或者”。故填r。
2.(2020·新課標(biāo)卷Ⅲ)_________ he asked the villagers n the banks f the river where he culd find the legendary (傳奇的) artist, they smiled and pinted dwn the river. 解析:考查連接詞。句意:當(dāng)他問河岸上的村民,他在哪里可以找到這位傳奇藝術(shù)家時(shí),他們笑著指著河的下游。本句為時(shí)間狀語從句,表示“當(dāng)……時(shí)候”,且從句中動詞asked為短暫性動作動詞,不能用while引導(dǎo),故應(yīng)用when或as引導(dǎo)。句首單詞首字母要大寫。故填When/As。
3.(2019·全國Ⅱ卷) I wrk nt because I have t, _____ because I want t. 解析:考查并列連詞。根據(jù)句意邏輯可知,此處為轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系,句意:我工作不是因?yàn)槲也坏貌蛔觯且驗(yàn)槲蚁胱?。此處用but與前文nt 呼應(yīng),構(gòu)成“不是……而是……”之意。故填but。
4.(四川)It was time fr her t have a new baby, ______ it was als time fr the yung panda t be independent.解析:句意:是時(shí)候再生一個(gè)孩子了,熊貓寶寶也到獨(dú)立的時(shí)候了。It was time fr… 和it was als time fr… 之間是并列關(guān)系,故用and連接。
5.(新課標(biāo)全國Ⅰ)But the river wasn’t changed in a few days ____ even a few mnths. 解析:a few days和a few mnths為選擇關(guān)系,因此要用r連接。6.(廣東)S Nick called t his sn, “G t the village and buy sme salt, but pay a fair price fr it: neither t much _____ t little.”解析:neither…nr…“既不……也不……”,為固定搭配。故填nr。
7.(2019·新課標(biāo)III卷)On ur way t the huse,it was raining ____ hard that we culdn’t help wndering hw lng it wuld take t get there. It was in the middle f Pearl City. 解析:考查副詞。句意:在我們?nèi)ツ亲孔拥穆飞?,雨下得如此大以至于我們不能不想還要多久才能到達(dá)那里?!皊… that… ”意為“如此……以至于……”,引導(dǎo)結(jié)果狀語從句。故填s。
8.(2019·天津卷)Tm is s independent that he never asks his parents’ pinin ________ he wants their supprt. 解析:考查連詞。句意:湯姆是如此獨(dú)立,以至于他從來不征求父母的意見,除非他想得到他們的支持。故填unless除非。9.(2018·全國卷Ⅱ)Crn uses less water ______ rice and creates less fertilizer(化肥) runff. 解析:考查連詞。句意:玉米比大米使用的水更少。根據(jù)關(guān)鍵詞less可知,填比較連詞。故填than。
Ⅱ.單句改錯(cuò)(每小題僅有1處錯(cuò)誤)1.(2020·新課標(biāo)卷Ⅰ)First I cut the tmates int pieces but put them aside.but改為and 解析:考查連詞。句意:首先我把西紅柿切成塊,并把它們放在一邊。I cut the tmates int pieces與put them aside之間是并列關(guān)系,應(yīng)使用and連接,故將but改為and。
2.(2020·新課標(biāo)卷Ⅰ)After that I pured il int a pan and turned n the stve, I waited patiently unless the il was ht.unless改為until/till 解析:考查連詞。句意:我耐心等待,直到油燒熱。此處是指“直到”油燒熱,應(yīng)使用until/till引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句,故將unless改為until/till。
3.(2020·新課標(biāo)卷Ⅱ) Actually, I started t learn kung fu when I was seven years ld, fr I have lng been ut f practice.fr改為but / yet 解析:考查連詞。句意:但我早就不練習(xí)了。分析句子,此處前句提到“我7歲開始學(xué)功夫”,后句提到“很久沒有練習(xí)了”。此處前后應(yīng)是轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系。故將fr改為but / yet。
4.(2020·新課標(biāo)卷Ⅲ) In rder t make sure all f us are in gd health, and she makes specific plans fr us.去掉and 解析:考查簡單句。這是一個(gè)簡單句,前面in rder t… 作目的狀語,不用連詞and,所以去掉and。
5.(2019·全國I卷)Suddenly a ftball fell just in frnt f me but almst hit me.but改為and 解析:考查連詞。句意:突然一個(gè)足球落在我前邊并且差點(diǎn)打到我?!白闱蚵湎聛怼迸c“打到我”兩個(gè)動作是順承關(guān)系,不是轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系。故將but改為and。
6.(2019·全國Ⅱ卷)When I studied chemistry at high schl, I recnsidered my gal r decided t be a dctr.r改為and 解析:考查連詞。句意:在高中學(xué)化學(xué)的時(shí)候,我重新考慮了自己的目標(biāo)并決定成為一名醫(yī)生。 “重新考慮”與“決定成為一名醫(yī)生”之間是順承關(guān)系,不是選擇關(guān)系。故將r改為and。
7.(2018·全國卷Ⅲ)Everyne was silent, waiting t see wh wuld be called upn t read his and her paragraph alud.and →r 解析:考查連詞。句意:每個(gè)人都沉默了,等著看誰會被要求朗讀他或她的段落。一次只能叫一個(gè)人,男女兩者是選擇關(guān)系,故把a(bǔ)nd改為r。
8.(全國卷Ⅰ)Befre getting int the car, I thught I had learned the instructr’s rders, s nce I started the car, my mind went blank.s →but/yet 解析:根據(jù)前后句意思可知這里表示轉(zhuǎn)折概念,并非因果,所以把s改為but或yet。
9.(四川)Mm has a full-time jb, s she has t d mst f the husewrk.s →but 解析:has a full-time jb與has t d mst f the husewrk之間是轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系,故將s改為but。
10.(新課標(biāo)全國Ⅰ)He had a deep vice, which set him apart frm thers in ur small twn, he was strng and pwerful.第二個(gè)he前加and 解析:句中which引導(dǎo)的是定語從句,修飾主句He had a deep vice,而主句與從句后的分句he was strng and pwerful之間缺少連詞,根據(jù)它們的并列關(guān)系,可確定需要在第二個(gè)he前加and。
11.(浙江)If I was nly a child when I studied in that classrm, I will never frget it.If →Althugh/Thugh 解析:句意:盡管在那個(gè)教室學(xué)習(xí)時(shí)我僅僅是一個(gè)孩子,但我永遠(yuǎn)忘不了它。根據(jù)句意,應(yīng)將If改為Althugh或Thugh。12.(大綱全國)And it is wise t have as many gd friends that we can.that →as 解析:as many… as we can為固定句式,as引導(dǎo)比較狀語從句。
13.(新課標(biāo)全國Ⅰ)Althugh we allw tmat plants t grw in the same place year after year, but we have never had any disease r insect attack prblems.but →yet或去掉but 解析:在讓步狀語從句中, althugh不可以與but連用,但可以與yet連用。
14.(新課標(biāo)全國Ⅰ)In fact, he even scared my classmates away during they came ver t play r d hmewrk with me.during →when 解析:句中during為介詞,不可以連接兩個(gè)并列的句子,根據(jù)邏輯關(guān)系,后一個(gè)分句應(yīng)為when引導(dǎo)的時(shí)間狀語從句。故during應(yīng)改為when。
15.(陜西)Befre waiting fr abut half an hur, I was beginning t get impatient.Befre →After 解析:句意:等候了大約半個(gè)小時(shí)后,我開始不耐煩了。故應(yīng)把Befre改為After。
Ⅲ.語法填空My classmate Michael studied very hard 1.________ he went t senir schl. Every day he wrked 2.________ everyne else in my class left the classrm. 解析:1.句意:我的同班同學(xué)Michael上高中以后學(xué)習(xí)非常努力。此處用after引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句符合語境。2.句意:每天他都學(xué)習(xí)到我們班其他所有同學(xué)都離開教室為止。故用until引導(dǎo)時(shí)間狀語從句。3.句意:他說除非他在學(xué)習(xí)上取得令人滿意的成績,否則他不會停止努力,unless表示“除非……”。故填unless。
4.句意:盡管他努力了,但是進(jìn)步很小。副詞hard位于句首,所以此處為讓步狀語從句的倒裝形式。故填as/thugh。5.句意:但是他一點(diǎn)兒也沒有灰心,因?yàn)樗嘈胖灰麍?jiān)持不懈,他遲早會成功的。此處解釋他不灰心的理由。故答案為because或as。6.a(chǎn)s time went by表示“隨著時(shí)間的推移”。故填A(yù)s。7.句意:開始大學(xué)新生活之前我們舉行了一次聚會。本題考查時(shí)間狀語從句。由前后兩個(gè)動作發(fā)生的先后順序可知填befre。
8.句意:因?yàn)槊總€(gè)人都被大學(xué)錄取了,所以我們玩得特別開心。前后兩部分為因果關(guān)系。故答案為s。9.句意:當(dāng)站在我們昔日玩樂和學(xué)習(xí)的地方時(shí),我們不禁想起了昔日快樂的時(shí)光。答案where引導(dǎo)地點(diǎn)狀語從句。10.句意:我們相信無論我們要去哪里,要做什么,我們永遠(yuǎn)都不會忘記彼此。答案wherever引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句,符合語境。
