The number f mnarch butterflies spending the winter in the western United States has fallen t its secnd-lwest level in nearly 30 years, accrding t a recent survey. Pesticides (農(nóng)藥), habitat lss and climate change are threatening this belved pllinatr (傳粉昆蟲(chóng)) , knwn fr its striking range-and-black wings.
The survey, cnducted by the Xerces Sciety fr Invertebrate Cnservatin, began in 1997.
