Before you make friends, you have to decide who you want to be your friends. Most people like to have friends who like to do the same thing they do.
The quickest way to make a friend is to smile. When you smile, people think you are friendly and easy to talk to. It may not be easy at first to smile, but remember most people will stay away from a scared(害怕的) or angry looking face.
One easy way to start a conversation(對(duì)話,交談) with someone is to say something nice about him. Think about how great you feel when someone says something nice to you. Doesn’t it make you want to keep talking to that person?
Ask your new friends questions about themselves. Who’s their favorite singer, where do they live, what do they do after school are all good questions to start a conversation. Make sure you have something to add to the conversation, too. When someone asks you a question,do have an answer for them. There’s nothing that will stop a conversation quicker than a shrug for an answer.
Kids who show an interest in other kids and who are kind and friendly make good friends. Remember, everyone wants to be around people who like to do similar(相似的) things and people who are nice to them.

C.knowing nothing D.not hoping to answer

If you want to become a fluent(流利的) English speaker you should take some advice: there are four skills in learning English. They are reading, listening, speaking, and writing. The most important thing you must remember is that if you want to improve your speaking and writing skills you should first master the skills of reading and listening.
Read as much as you can. But your reading must be active. It means that you must think about the meaning of the sentence, the meaning of the unfamiliar (不熟悉的)words, etc. There is no need for you to pay much attention to grammars or try to understand all the unfamiliar words you come across, but the fact that you see them for the first time and recognize them whenever you see them, for example in other passages or books,is enough. It would be better to prepare yourself a notebook so you can write down the important words or sentences in it.
As for listening, there are two choices: besides reading, you can listen every day for about 30 minutes. You can only pay attention to your reading and become skillful(熟練的) at your reading, then you can catch up on your listening. Since you have lots of inputs(輸入) in your mind, you can easily guess what the speaker is going to say. This never means that you should not practice listening.
For listening you can listen to cartoons or some movies that are specially made for children. Their languages are easy. Or if you are good at listening you can listen to VOA or BBC programs every day. Again the thing to remember is being active in listening and preferably taking some notes.
If you follow these pieces of advice, your speaking and writing will improve automatically(自動(dòng)的),and you can be sure that with a little effort they will become perfect.
32.According to the author, which should you improve first among the four skills?
A.Reading and listening. B.Reading and writing.
C.Writing and speaking. D.Speaking and listening.
33.To improve your reading, when you read you should ________.
A.look up all the new words in the dictionary
B.think about what you are reading actively
    C.spend more time studying grammars
D.copy as many words and sentences as possible
34.The author seems to agree with the view that ________.
A.everyone should listen to VOA or BBC programs every day
B.you needn’t practice listening if you keep on reading every day
C.being good at reading is helpful in improving your listening
D.you should write down whatever(任何…的東西) you are hearing
35.The passage is mainly about how to ________.
    A.choose suitable(合適的) listening materials
B.deal with new words in reading
C.improve your English as quickly as possible
D.become fluent in speaking and writing English

    Dear Jenny,
How nice to hear from you! In your letter you asked me how to keep healthy. I would like to give you some advice. As you know, we teenagers grow very fast, so we need to keep a balanced diet and have nutritious foods, such as fish, meat, and beans, especially fresh vegetables and fruits. You had better not eat too much sweet. Also, you should take physical exercise regularly instead of studying in the classroom all the time. For example, you can play basketball or swim after school. What’s more, having enough sleep is very important. So I advise you to have at least eight hours of sleep every day and not to stay up too late. Only in this way can you keep fit.

    Text 10 (183詞) 無(wú)塑七月
M: Plastic Free July is a holiday aimed at teaching people about the dangers of plastic and challenges people to avoid plastic for a month. Plastic Free July first began in Australia in 2011. In 2018, a total of 120 million people participated—and 90 percent of those participants made permanent habit changes beyond July. It’s now considered one of the most influential environmental activities in the world, with 250 million participants expected this year.
People can participate in this holiday by avoiding plastic products throughout the whole month of July. This holiday also helps educate people about the different types of plastics out there.
With the world still facing the novel coronavirus, it may be harder than usual to avoid single-use plastic this July. If you live in America or Canada, where your regular grocers or food stores have changed their policies, there are still things you can do to reduce the use of plastic this July. Now, share this holiday with your friends online and see if you can convince them to join you in your efforts to stop using plastic.

    A
Before you make friends, you have to decide who you want to be your friends.

On the first day of a new term,128 students of Morton High School were sent home for wearing the wrong clothes. There are altogether 1,200 students in the school.

    Dear Jenny,
How nice to hear from you!
    Yours
    Li Hua
