(1)吳健雄，美籍華裔物理學(xué)家，1912年5月31日生于江蘇省太倉縣；
(2)1936年赴美國留學(xué)，1940年獲美國加利福尼亞大學(xué)博士學(xué)位，之后又獲得許多美國著名高等學(xué)府的博士學(xué)位；
(3)她長期從事物理學(xué)研究并在美國及國際上多次榮獲大獎；
(4)吳健雄生前關(guān)心中國科技事業(yè)的發(fā)展，從1973年起多次來中國講學(xué)，1992年在南京大學(xué)建立了吳健雄圖書館；
(5)1997年2月16日，吳健雄女士因心臟病逝世。
